Notes

In this interview, Dr. Pauly Maniyattu explains his novel idea of liturgical space-time compared to a similar concept in the Indian tradition. Later, Fr. Pauly explains three interpretations of the tradition in the Syro Malabar Qurbana of prefixing Puqdankon. This conversation may inspire future liturgical committees to REINSTATE this rich, beautiful, polysemic, and culturally situated tradition.

  • Really interesting title, liturgical space time...this is something new to us , material knowledge about the liturgy, the explanation of liturgy...thank you Rev.Dr Paul Maniyattu, also nice to hear the modern piano background to the ancient syriac Aramaic themes...- @rani05z2 - 09 Oct 2023
  • Can we bring back Syriac Puqdanakon back to our Qurbana? - @star_ofthe_sea3015 - 08 Oct 2023

    • Only a grassroots-level movement from the younger generation of Syro Malabar Catholics can make it happen. The leaders need to be persuaded. They will not take the initiative on their own. Sad. - @TheCMSIndia
    • @TheCMSIndia I notice that you always bring this topic into your conversations. Like you were able to blend in Syriac chants to Qurbana may be your movement can bring Puqdanaqon also back - @star_ofthe_sea3015
