Subject: Aramaic Project, the All Christian Archive, and the Hebrew Arabic English Bible Project

Communication between Joseph J Palackal, CMI and Paul Wheelhouse, MSLIS, MSC, M.Div.

Good Morning Father Joseph,

We were blessed to have you with us at Holy Faith Catholic Church in Gainesville for the 9:30am mass yesterday. And it was a pleasure to meet you briefly after the mass.

I looked up, your website in the afternoon, and indeed I am impressed. What particularly captures my interest as a Christian Archivist and historian is the different groups/divisions of the project on the home page, such as Assyrian Church of the East, the Chaldean Catholic Church, the Syrian Orthodox churches, etc.
For I am resolutely interested in preserving the Christian heritage and legacies of all these groups of peoples, historically. And your website opens up a window into all these groups, if time permitted. The history of Christian churches in the Middle East is my main research interest.
What I did not mention is that I am the Founding Archivist of the All Christian Archive,, whose purpose is to preserve Christian heritage in all forms from individuals, families, churches, organizations, and institutions. Music in my view is one of the greatest modes of expression of Christian heritage. It can lift peoples' souls up toward Heaven. :And there is more than one form of music from various types of recordings to the printed music scores.
I look forward to getting more acquainted with the Christian music heritage of Christian Musicological Society of India.

With that, I can say 'Amen.' But I'll append one more thought to this email, since it is was I mentioned to you: The Hebrew Arabic English Parallel Bible Project which I have begun to spearhead in the last couple months. Its still just getting started. Its purpose is to produce this printed work to share and teach the Biblical Scriptures to Arab Muslims. I ask your prayers for the success of this project. Later, I will set up a blog site for this Project to keep people informed, and I'll send you the blog site later.

God bless your travels and your Lenten journey.
In the name of Jesus our Savior,
Paul Wheelhouse, MSLIS, MSC, M.Div.

Subject: Bl. Sr. RANI MARIA :

Communication Between Joseph J Palackal, CMI. and Sr. Jessy Thomas FCC. about Blessed Sr. Rani Maria

Dear Rev Fr Joseph,
Loving greetings from Sr. Jessy FCC.

Father, I would like to request you a kind favour. First I will introduce myself. Myself too from the same province of your sister Sr. Sophia. At present I am in Rome, doing my research on the social spirituality of Sr. Rani Maria. I found the name Palackal in her Diary in the section of her intentions to pray in the year 1985. So I clarified it with Sr. Mariusha and came to know that you are that person.

This is my humble request to you. Father, will you please write your experience in Bijnor especially working with Sr. Rani, in a sheet of paper. Please note to write it with accurate/ approximate date.

Thanks a lot. Sorry to trouble you. But I feel free to ask you after listening your voice message that you sent to Sr. Sophia. Thank you.... Thank you very much dear Father.

Take care... stay safe.

Subject: Yama Prayers ( Liturgy of Hours) in SYRIAC in New Jersy, USA.

Youtube comment by :Hudra Kid

Dear Joseph Palackal Acha,

I am a follower of your youtube channel. I came across a teenager in NJ who does all the Yama prayers in actual Syriac by following Hudra. May be its a good idea, if you prefer to bring him on your channel as an inspiration for young kids. Surprisingly he learned Syriac on his own.

Subject: Future of Raza Qurbana in the near future!

Dear Fr. Joseph,

I hope you are doing well! I write to you with so much appreciation and gratefulness for the hard work that you have put into preserving our very own Syriac chants and prayers. Ever since high school, when I came to the knowledge of the roots of our Church, I have been so fascinated by the Syriac language. This consequently resulted in trying to find as many resources online to learn more Syriac and our liturgy and practices.
In Aramaic Project-71, in the interview with Fr. Varghese Mattathil, a recording of the Raza celebrated in Syriac by Fr. George Plathottam was briefly mentioned. Would you by any chance know where I can find a copy of this recording? I have been so eager to hear the Raza in Syriac.
Out of curiosity, I wish to ask: Do you think that in the near future we can see the Raza being celebrated again in our Syriac language? Just like Qurbanas are being celebrated once in a while in Syriac.

Remember me in Your prayers Acha,

In Christ,
Joel Sanil

Dear Fr Palackal,

Thank you for your response. I tried proquest but it offers only a preview of 24 pages. I am right now in Delhi. Therefore, once I get back home, I will collect it. I have been following the activities of CMS for a while now and I really adore them as well.

I have quite a few ideas to work on and I am yet to settle on one. Initially, I was focusing on the folk Christian music of the Latin Christians and its evolution. But lately, I found liturgical music, and its vernacularization quite interesting. Also how music and chanting traditions were used as mediums of contestation between various sects of Kerela Christianity appears quite appealing to me. Therefore, as of now, I am focused on reading secondary works, so that I can find the aptest topic.

Also, I would like to request any book suggestions on the theoretical aspects of music in Christianity.

Subject - Interview for Sacred Music Class

This is Maritta from the Propria team. Hope you are in good spirits, it has been a while since we last met for the musical discussion on the Propria. I am currently finishing up my Masters in Theology from Holy Apostles College and Seminary. My class this semester is on Sacred Music. As part of my final paper, I have to write about a composer of sacred music. I was wondering if could write about you. I already got approval from my professor to interview you. May I please interview you next week at your convenience please father? The earlier the better. I hope it is alright with you. I am estimating the interview time to be less than 1 hr. Can you also re-send the article you sent me a while back and any other writings on music you may have, so that I can refer to them in my final paper. The paper will be brief- about 5 pages, double spaced, and I will email you a copy once it is done. Please let me know,

Maritta Martin
